F.F.I.S.S.T. Local #3764 and the Farmington School Board Reach a Settlement.

The Farmington School Board and the Union acknowledge that the cessation of health insurance benefits for striking employees at the commencement of the 2005 strike caused significant anxiety and personal disruption among the members of the bargaining unit and the school community. In an effort to mend relations between the School Board and the Union, the School Board has agreed to immediately take such actions as are necessary to change the current application of the Blue/Blue Shield policy to specifically provide for the termination of benefits to be effective on the first day of the following month in which the employee discontinues active employment with the District or is removed from the payroll; rather than terminating benefits on the day following the last day of work.

FFISST Local #3764 withdrew the Unfair Labor Practice charge.

F.F.I.S.S.T. LOCAL #3764 Awards Scholarships

FFISST awarded two $750 scholarships on Senior Honors’ Night.

Lindsey Danley and Julie Bontz were the Farmington High School seniors chosen to receive these honors. Both young ladies are planning on attending college and becoming teachers themselves. Members of the certified staff of F.F.I.S.S.T. donate part of each paycheck to fund the scholarship program. This is one of the ways the teachers help support the community. We wish Lindsey and Julie much success.
